☂️Czech Traditional Christmas Carols Concert + Audio Guide
What would Christmas be without the Czech Christmas Mass by Jakub Jan Ryba? During Advent, the Hybernia Theatre transforms into a church, restoring its original early Baroque atmosphere. Music, theatre and modern visual effects come together in a magical Christmas story, bringing this beloved Czech tradition to life.
Directed by Petr Svojtka, with orchestra conductor Lukáš Klánský and performances by renowned Czech opera singers Daniel Hůlka, Daniel Klánský and Michal Bragagnolo, the show also features projections of the famous Třebechovice Nativity Scene. It is a wonderful experience for the whole family and a perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit.
But there is more to discover around the Hybernia Theatre. Its history stretches back almost 900 years, from a medieval monastery to a Baroque church built by Irish monks, known as the Hibernians, and eventually a musical stage. The surrounding streets hide fascinating stories, from Count Sporck, who introduced Vivaldi's operas to Prague, to a medieval toilet tucked away in a bookshop.
Continue exploring with a self-guided audio walk that feels like strolling through Prague with a local art historian. Discover hidden details, unexpected stories and nearly 900 years of history at your own pace. The walk takes place entirely outdoors. For the most atmospheric experience, explore in the early evening, perhaps after a show.
